GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Head Chef, the Delivery Driver will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading vehicles, food preparation/serving, and providing exceptional customer service. The Delivery Driver is a part time, non-exempt position eligible for 403 (b) retirement plan, sick leave, and paid holidays. This position is employed by Next Move Homeless Services, Inc.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with labeling products that are scheduled to be delivered as needed.
- Pack and load products into vehicle according to company's specifications.
- Shop for certain products at various locations that are scheduled to be delivered.
- Maintain proper documentation or receipts for all purchases.
- Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes.
- Maintain ongoing communication with kitchen staff.
- Unload goods as per customers specifications.
- Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs.
- Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer and fill out associated logs.
- Attend the workplace regularly, report to work punctually and follow a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the organization.
- Assist in packaging meals for distribution, maintaining proper temperatures and packing insulated bags for transport.
- Adhere to standard food rotation practices to reduce food waste and minimize the risk of contamination.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Next Move Homeless Services and Goodwill Industries® Sacramento Valley Northern Nevada policies, CARF standards, and safety and security regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Operations & Safety
- Complete the daily prep list created by Head Chef.
- Label, stock, and organize all recipe ingredients so that items are easily accessible.
- Measure ingredients according to prep list (including seasonings) for recipes.
- Basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
- Prepare simple dishes such as sides, salads, etc.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, keep pantry and packaging organized, etc.
- Ensure all food and other items (like chemicals, packaging, and supplies) are stored and stocked properly.
- Comply with nutrition, food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Complete all assigned trainings.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Must provide and maintain valid California Driver’s License.
- Must not present a direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or property.
- No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates an ongoing tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior.
- Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
- Must pass a drug screening and maintain compliance of the organization’s drug and alcohol policy.
- Must pass a background screening and maintain compliance with the organization’s associated polices.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
