SUMMARY:  

Ag Partners Cooperative’s Internship Program provides a hands-on experience that relates the classroom to the workplace. A project assignment for each intern, developed by their mentor, gives them a chance to make a real impact on our business and grow their professional portfolio. Final projects are presented to the leadership team and intern mentors at the end of the summer. We hope this experience is an avenue to grow our talent pool and workplace network.  

LOCATIONS OF INTERNSHIPS:

  • Seneca, KS
  • Hiawatha, KS

POSITION AVAILABLE: 2025 Summer Internship (May – July)  

  • Agronomy (Seneca & Hiawatha KS) 
    • Develop and demonstrate agronomic skills such as weed, insect, and disease identification, as well as crop nutrient and protection recommendations through soil and tissue sampling.
    • Maintain field plots: Raise field signs and record agronomic crop information. 
    • Shadow customer calls/visits to determine agronomy needs.
    • Utilize crop scouting software, weekly reports, and tech tools to document and share observations.
    • Assist with field trial research, data collection, and product development programs & promotions
  • Marketing & Communications (Seneca KS / Hybrid Remote)
    • Create and publish media content across digital, print, and broadcast mediums
    • Develop and distribute social media content
    • Assist in managing the company website & customer platforms
    • Video and photography development and editing
    • Coordinate with all departments to provide promotions and updates to employee & customers
  • Propane Service Technician (Seneca, KS)
    • Assisting in repairs on company bulk refined fuel tanks, propane tanks, and Cardtrol fuel dispensers.
    • Complete safety leak checks & maintenance on existing systems for propane, fuel, and lubricants.
    • Ensuring completion of new customer installations of propane tanks, fuel tanks, DEF systems, and bulk oil totes.
    • Assist with Energy Department special projects. 
  • Grain Merchandising & Operations (Seneca, KS)
    • Observe a full view of our Grain business from office merchandising practices to location operations and grain handling

      Merchandising:

      • Assist the Merchandising Team with Customer Calls: Purchasing & selling grain
      • Learning Grain Positions: Analyzing market conditions, spreads, and cost of carry
      • Understanding Logistics & Market Territory: Freight of grain & where bushels flow to/from
      • Grain Accounting: Accounting of customer and company grain movement
    • Operations:

      • Grain Handling & Storage
        • Learn the proper procedures for receiving, cleaning, improving, and storing grain. Monitor grain quality, moisture levels, and condition in storage. Assist in bin measurements and inventory tracking processes.
      • Facility Operations & Equipment
        • Assist in daily facility maintenance, cleaning, and safety inspections. Observe and assist in the operation of grain handling equipment (legs, conveyors, dryers, etc.).
