Darigold is seeking a skilled Facilities & Utilities Maintenance Supervisor to join our plant maintenance team. This role will lead a multidisciplinary team of utilities technicians responsible for the operation, maintenance, and safe performance of the plant’s utilities systems — including ammonia refrigeration, industrial boilers/steam systems, wastewater treatment processes, and associated facility equipment. The Supervisor will be responsible for organizing, scheduling, and assigning all work on utilities equipment; including daily, monthly, semiannual, and annual rebuilds while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, is hands-on in troubleshooting, and can effectively coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team.

Schedule:Thurs-Sat with alternating Wednesdays 5:00am-5:00pm

What You Will Do

· Supervise, mentor, coach, and schedule utilities technicians (ammonia, boilers, wastewater, supporting trades).

· Assign and coordinate daily, monthly, semiannual, and annual rebuilds and maintenance activities.

· Coordinate facility and utility outages, upgrades, and project work with production, quality, EH&S, and engineering teams.

· Recruit, train, evaluate, and develop the utilities team; manage workforce performance and development plans.

· Own the safe operation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement for ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, steam distribution, wastewater treatment, and supporting equipment.

· Develop, improve, and expand preventive maintenance programs for utilities equipment and facilities.

· Maintain accurate records, files, instruction manuals, and spare parts inventories.

· Manage work orders, including creation, modification, and completion in the CMMS.

· Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

· Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Program (RMP), environmental permits/discharge, and applicable codes/regulations

· Maintain compliance with applicable food safety regulations (e.g., SQF, FDA, PMO).

· Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for utilities-related events.

· Coordinate emergency response for ammonia releases, boiler incidents, and wastewater system upsets.

· Support plant grounds maintenance to meet operational and regulatory standards.

· Provide hands-on troubleshooting for ammonia refrigeration, boilers, steam systems, wastewater treatment equipment, and associated control systems.

· Oversee contractor work for installations, major repairs, and inspections, ensuring quality, permitting, and safe work practices.

· Identify and implement process optimization and reliability improvement projects in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

What You Bring:

· In-depth mechanical knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and safe handling practices; familiarity with IIAR standards.

· Strong understanding of boiler operations, controls, combustion safety, and applicable codes.

· Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and industrial wastewater permit compliance.

· Electrical, PLC, and instrumentation troubleshooting skills.

· Proficiency with CMMS systems and reliability improvement tools (e.g., root cause analysis, TPM, FMEA).

· Strong familiarity with PSM/RMP and EH&S programs related to utilities.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

· Minimum 5+ years’ experience in industrial utilities maintenance/operations, with supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Relevant certifications preferred: ammonia refrigeration training, boiler operator license, wastewater operator certification.

· Technical education (Associate degree in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent) or relevant military/industrial experience preferred.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and run technical training programs.
