We are seeking an Outpatient Therapist to provide ongoing and developmentally appropriate, evidence based, trauma and recovery focused outpatient therapy to clients of Network180’s Outpatient Clinic.

 

This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in-person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Counseling Psychology, Certification or Licensure in the State of Michigan as  limited licensed master social worker, professional counselor,; OR the ability to obtain a limited license within 30 days of hire.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis.
  • Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.

 

Additional minimum qualifications for Therapists working with minors:

•   Specialized training and at least one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of minors and their families.

 

Additional minimum qualifications for DBT Therapists:

•   At least one year of experience providing individual and/or group DBT therapy to adults.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Fully licensed MSW, or Professional Counselor, or Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Training in and experience with providing Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
  • CAADC certification through the Michigan Certificate Board for Addiction Professionals or able to obtain a development plan for the credential.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions).
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
  • For DBT therapists, experience providing DBT to fidelity as a member of a DBT treatment team.
