Description
The successful candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona. There is a unique opportunity to grow in this role and develop a career as a project manager, technical expert, or combination of the two, based on career direction and skill sets. Candidate will work on a variety of drainage and water resources related projects and tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, design development, calculations, and client or public presentations to support the drainage and water resources discipline
- Work with multiple civil disciplines as part of design development
- Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to the management and conveyance of stormwater systems
- Participate in the preparation, oversight, and review of drainage plans
- Prepare written reports, technical reports, and permit applications
- Provide technical review support for other projects to support drainage and water resources design discipline
- Attend conferences and technical workshops to study the industry’s new and innovative solutions and technologies
- Assist with technical marketing during the procurement of key projects
Requirements
- 5+ years of drainage design experience and/or water modeling experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- PE in Arizona
- Experience with design of stormwater management systems including the siting, design and modeling of retention and detention ponds with ICPR or similar software packages
- Experience with design of open and closed conveyance systems including the application of design software (Geopak, StormCAD)
- Experience with H&H Modeling using any of the following software: HY-8, Culvert Master, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GEORAS, CivilStorm, Pond Pack, ArcGIS and Flow Master
- Experience in MicroStation and Inroads
- Oral and written communication skills, and ability to be proactive
- The ability and attitude to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working in projects within the Central Texas Region a plus as this could develop into a TX water lead position
- FEMA floodplain experience is a component of this position
- CLOMR/LOMR experience is a plus.
