We’re excited to offer a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Operations Strategic Manager (OSM) to join our Kwinana Pigment Plant operations, approx. 35-minute drive south of Perth.
As OSM, you’ll be at the heart of shaping the future of our site, driving big-picture planning, mentoring high-performing teams, and leading initiatives that make a real impact.
Reporting to the Site Director, you’ll lead cross-functional planning and drive strategic goals across operations, aligning production, quality, and excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Takes stewardship of the site Operational Excellence improvement plan including input in development through to implementation and assessment on gaps to the standards.
- Is the site owner of the local quality strategy and the local interface to the Commercial team
- Provides assistance to the Site Director and Managers for the site business planning process and distributes outputs into the regional process
- Responsible for strategic site production planning, aligning production improvement activities with the production plan, specically, development of integrated production and maintenance plans, including the effective examination of: performance KPI's; strategic sales planning; Technology & Improvement team input and major maintenance strategies
- Coordinates and manages the input of key data and information into the integrated annual and 5-year business plan for the site, ensures site leadership is aligned on priorities to achieve the plan and that progress is tracked regularly
- Is the Operations interface for aligning departmental goals, processes and resource allocation with the organisational strategy
- Manages and optimizes the site major events calendar (e.g. shutdowns, audits, risk analysis, workshops, training, etc.)
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- A degree in Metallurgy, Engineering, Project Management or similar relevant discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a strategic operational role; business administration, management consulting or strategic planning
- Proficiency in a variety of communication styles, particularly with respect to communicating technical concepts, business cases and providing business context to your team.
- Understanding of business operations and procedures
- Project management skills
