Administrative Assistant/ISS Monitor
Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant/ISS monitor will manage daily operation of the office. Maintain records with accuracy and integrity. Provide positive assistance to all administrators, teachers, vendors, students and parents. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and school administration to provide academic and behavior supports; manage behavior plans; and provide a safe and caring environment for students assigned to ISS.

Knowledge, Skills & Implementation
Ability to work independently with knowledge of school policies and regulations with specific detail to school attendance, discipline policies and regulations regarding in-school suspension.
Effective communication with staff, students, parents or guardians when reaching out to verify absences addressing questions in a professional manner regarding attendance, discipline and policies with documentation.
Displays strong organizational skills. Maintain accurate behavioral and attendance data with documentation necessary to support reason for discipline or absence. Preparing detailed reports when needed.
Equipped with personal integrity, protecting confidentiality of all information related to attendance and discipline issues.
Works with administration and staff identifying and addressing cases of excessive absenteeism.
Communicate with relevant authorities regarding truancy.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the principal or other administrative staff as designated by the superintendent.
Essential Responsibilities
Monitor teacher and support staff absences to ensure substitutes are assigned if needed.
Provide administrative support to principal, including maintaining calendars, schedule meetings and handling correspondence.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times
Maintain student attendance records, inform principal of excessive absenteeism issues
Log absences in PowerSchool, generate reports and follow up as necessary
Coordinates classroom instruction with staff for the purpose of ensuring continuity of learning
While students are in ISS, maintain a safe, structure environment. This includes ensuring students are on task, and providing assistance as needed.
While students are in ISS, observe student behavior and address any issues or concerns, referring more serious issues to principal or school administrators.
Oversee students during lunch periods in the ISS room, maintaining safety and order.
Provide support to all students as needed
Perform other tasks assigned by the principal or other administrative staff as designated by the superintendent
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma
Proficiency in Google and Microsoft
Related experience and/or training
Previous experience with PowerSchool preferred.
