Mainstay Medical is a medical device company focused on marketing an innovative implantable neurostimulation system, ReActiv8®, for people with disabling chronic mechanical Low Back Pain. The Role:
The Therapy Development Specialist will be fully responsible for driving the growth, development, and expansion of the ReActiv8 therapy within a target region. The TDS (Therapy Development Specialist) will design and execute a therapy education & awareness plan in alignment with the strategic objectives of Mainstay Medical while partnering with the local Therapy Manager, Marketing, and the broader regional team. This position will work to build relationships and establish rapport with physicians and staff in a clinical setting while building the ReActiv8 brand across a chosen account and subsequent healthcare markets. Consistent monitoring and follow through, to ensure that programs are impactful to target physicians, patients, the local/regional clinician community, and the greater ReActiv8 team, will be key.
Position Responsibilities:
- Focus on developing a strong implementation roadmap for ReActiv8 therapy by focusing on target personas, the account ecosystem, referral patterns, and the treatment care continuum.
- Execute a detailed training plan to educate multiple specialties on the indications, pathologies, and on-label uses for Reactiv8.
- Classify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care.
- Determine where ReActiv8 fits in their treatment care continuum and deploy necessary resources, tools, and education to facilitate ongoing patient identification activities and the filling of the ReActiv8 patient pipeline.
- Identify key referral networks for the ReActiv8 therapy - from Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, and Interventional Pain Physicians to Primary Care Physicians.
- Develop and enhance these relationships through therapy awareness activities, routine customer visits, product demonstrations, educational programs, procedural observation, trade show participation and problem resolution.
- Develop relationships with administrative practice personnel (e.g. casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to gain knowledge on unique practice business dynamics and to identify key decision makers.
- Educate physicians and APPs on the merits and proper clinical usage of ReActiv8 by providing cadenced and continued educational presentations and demos.
- Work closely withMarketing, and Sales in evaluating site business conditions, gaps, and opportunities.Sharing intelligence on relevant competitive products, activities, and therapies for competitive products.
- Identify creative sources of information that can help inform our strategic business plans.
- Prepare and submit reports to Marketing and Sales Leadership by analyzing and compiling data, projections, and other relevant information. Ability to utilize analytic methods to capture and evaluate regional activities, including analysis and recommendation of new opportunities, and adapt new processes and strategies, as necessary. Perform field activities including clinic consultation, operating/emergency room consultation, patient education, case support, device programming, and education for ReActiv8 surgical training and practice integration.
- Manage account education initiatives throughout the project lifecycle and effectively communicate with regional sales team throughout.
- Identify and develop KOL’s and educational program opportunities to utilize.
- Identify, organize, and execute local/regional tradeshows & conferences and other meetings to optimize ReActiv8 awareness.
- Drive understanding of patient & clinician insights within the therapy, including patient and physician behavior.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires 2-4 years of healthcare related experience, preferably a Bachelor’s degree.
- A strong and creative thinker who is intellectually curious and has 3+ years of experience in marketing program development, field marketing, or sales experience.
- Possesses strong collaboration skills along with written and oral communication skills in English
- Results oriented team player.
- Must be able to work independently and build and maintain strong relationships in a multitude of settings.
The salary range for this position includes base pay of $65,000 - $75,000 + variable compensation. The total compensation package includes a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
