We are seeking a Research Lab Technician to support our R&D team in the development and optimization of new products and processes. This role will be instrumental in running lab and pilot-scale experiments that enable process scale-up and cost savings initiatives. By taking ownership of hands-on experimental work, the Research Lab Technician will help free up senior scientists’ time, allowing them to focus on project coordination, data analysis, and strategy.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct Lab and Pilot Experiments: Perform laboratory and pilot-scale experiments according to defined quality, regulatory, and safety standards.
Plan and Prepare Experiments: Select appropriate equipment, plan experiment logistics, and implement safety measures with limited supervision.
Document and Analyze Results: Accurately document experimental procedures and results, including data analysis and interpretation, to support decision-making and scale-up processes.
Maintain Laboratory and Equipment: Ensure a safe, organized, and well-maintained work environment. Support the evaluation, purchase, qualification, and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
Continuous Improvement: Share best practices and develop advanced technical skills to contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes and methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience & Skills: Prior experience in a laboratory or pilot plant environment preferred.
Strong practical skills in handling lab equipment and conducting experiments.
Ability to follow experimental plans and safety procedures with minimal supervision.
Good documentation and data analysis skills.
The expected salary range for this role is 63.000,00$ - 77.000,00$, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
This role is also eligible to earn a bonus and benefits as defined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
