Location: Desert Sage High School – Tucson, AZ
Reports To: School Directors (Co-Directors)
Wage: $17.00 per hour/part-time

Position Overview
Desert Sage High School, a tuition-free, Waldorf-inspired public charter high school, is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support our two School Directors. This role is ideal for a college student interested in education, arts integration, social media, or nonprofit operations. The Administrative Assistant provides vital support in helping school leadership manage communications, organize operations, and share our story with the wider community. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and creative—ready to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Scheduling Support
- Assist both Directors with managing calendars, setting appointments, and coordinating meetings
- Draft, format, and organize communications including emails, newsletters, and internal memos
- Take meeting notes and help track follow-up tasks and deadlines
Organizational & School Operations
- Organize digital and physical records, project materials, and planning documents
- Support logistics for school events, staff meetings, and community celebrations
- Help prepare materials for leadership meetings, student activities, and program planning
Social Media & Marketing
- Create and schedule engaging social media content aligned with the school’s mission and programs
- Take photos and gather media from school events to showcase student experiences and school culture
- Collaborate with the Directors on campaigns, community outreach, and brand storytelling
- Monitor social engagement and assist with basic analytics or reporting
Community & Student Support
- Serve as a welcoming presence for students, staff, and visitors
- Support communication between administrative staff, teachers, and families
- Assist in student leadership activities or school-wide projects as needed
Special Projects
- Provide support for data entry, flyer creation, light research, or campus organization
- Assist with special initiatives related to arts programming, student showcases, or sustainability efforts
Who You Are
- Highly organized and reliable, with clear communication and time-management skills
- Creative and comfortable with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Canva)
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive) or similar tools
- Enthusiastic about working in a school environment with a focus on relationships, creativity, and sustainability
