About this role

Job Summary:
Responsible for the development and daily operations of the Life Skills Coaching program to support the early childhood workforce. Creates opportunities for program participants to engage in life skills coaching trainings and activities as they navigate personal and professional needs to provide quality care for children. Works with community partners to promote and coordinate services. This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is dependent upon grant funding.

What a day of an Early Learning Skills Coach Manager looks like:

  • Leads and monitors all phases of a project from conception to implementation and user training to ensure maximum effectiveness.

  • Manages the planning, development, and design life skills coaching workshops and trainings based on the needs of the early childhood workforce.

  • Guides, leads, reviews, verifies, observes, and manages the work of people reporting directly and indirectly to you. 

  • Develops long-range, mid-range and short-term plans, goals, objectives, priorities and recommendations for the department.

  • Leads, monitors and assists in the preparation of reports to include goals, objectives, outcomes, deliverables and all other contract terms.

  • Conducts presentations on the program and its benefits to the early childhood community

  • Collaborates with other College departments, external organizations, partner agencies to plan and coordinate services to meet the needs of the early childhood workforce.

  • Maintains current knowledge of field or profession. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings and professional events outside of college locations, as needed.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of nine credits in Early Childhood or Child Development Education

  • Four years of related experience

  • Two years of experience working with Early Childhood Educators or in a Child Care setting

Knowledge of:

  • Adult learning principles

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:                

  • Delivering a high level of customer service

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

  • Group presentation, individual coaching and counseling skills

  • Motivating employees to apply the effort necessary to attain organizational and departmental goals

Ability to:

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service

  • Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required

  • Valid Florida driver’s license

Preferred, but not a must:

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in education, Social Work or related field of study

  • Life Coach certification by an institute that is accredited by the International Coaching Foundation

  • Supervisory experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Reach and grasp objects

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Use of video display terminal

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Identify and distinguish colors and shades of color

  • Communicate information orally and in writing

  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy

  • Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury

  • Risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens

  • Operate a motor vehicle

  • Work a fluctuating work schedule

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $56,359.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
