Location: Fully onsite in office in Houston, TX
This entry-level Project Engineer Intern role is designed to give you maximum exposure to both our field and office operations. The training program is expected to last between 10 to 12 weeks, depending on your availability/school schedule. After graduation and assuming you receive a full-time offer, Project Manager is the most common next step (this promotion path normally takes 3 years but can be quicker, depending on YOU and your pace), you’ll have the chance to explore other exciting opportunities within our different departments.
Project Engineer – What You Will Do
You will play a pivotal part in supporting our team of Project Managers and making sure construction projects are running smoothly from start to finish.
- Support and maintain data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, contractors/subcontractors, or other project-related entities
- Participate in and maintain document and project control systems and procedures.
- Attend project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
- Obtain, track, and document contractor and subcontractor contractual requirements (and construction plans and specs) on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment as directed by Project Manager
- Assist in project closeout procedures
Project Engineer– Required Skills, Experience & Personality Fit
- Comfort with working on-site at a job site/travel throughout the Houston area to job sites
- You are not happy with the status quo – you want to do BETTER
- You enjoy communicating with many different people every day (you might even call yourself an extrovert!)
- Organization skills – you are a master at juggling many moving parts and keeping the team organized
- An understanding of the construction life cycle from estimation/bid through project completion (you might have, not required)
