Role purpose:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Business Architect to join our growing Digital Transformation team.

This role is focused on supporting the design and development of business architecture frameworks, aligning business processes, technology, and systems to meet the organization’s strategic goals.

You will collaborate with the Head of Business Architecture and Analysis and Senior Business Analysts to analyze business needs from a strategic architecture perspective, contribute to process optimization, and help design integrated solutions that support the organization’s digital transformation journey.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Architecture Support:

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of business architecture models that define the organization’s processes, capabilities, and systems in alignment with business strategies.
  • Support the mapping and optimization of business processes to ensure they align with the overall business architecture and transformation goals.
  • Help identify key business drivers and assess how business systems and processes can be redesigned or enhanced to support strategic initiatives.

Architecture Design & Alignment:

  • Contribute to the development of business architecture frameworks, including the integration of processes, people, and technology across the business.
  • Assist in designing IT solutions that align with business goals, ensuring the architecture supports business strategies and addresses challenges within business operations.
  • Participate in the evaluation of existing business systems and processes to identify gaps and areas for improvement from a strategic architecture standpoint.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with IT teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technology solutions within the overall business architecture framework.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (e.g., IT, Finance, Operations) to ensure business needs are integrated into the overall enterprise architecture and digital transformation efforts.

Documentation & Governance:

  • Support the development and maintenance of architecture documentation that aligns business processes, technology, and systems.
  • Contribute to governance processes that ensure business architecture principles and standards are followed, maintaining consistency and strategic alignment across the organization.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for improving the business architecture function, ensuring that processes are agile, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Support the team in promoting a culture of continuous improvement within business architecture practices.

 

Key health & safety responsibilities:

Eliminate or minimise employee's exposure to risks by reviewing, regularly, the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.

Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.

Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventive action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in business architecture or a related field (business analysis experience may be applicable, but this role focuses on architecture, not traditional business analysis).
  • Familiarity with business architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF, and process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN, UML) is advantageous.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of business architecture principles, with the ability to work on strategic business process and systems design.
  • Familiarity with the alignment of IT systems and business goals, with an emphasis on architecture rather than analysis.
  • Ability to understand complex business needs and translate them into architecture frameworks and integrated solutions.

Communication:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both business stakeholders and IT teams in discussions about architecture design and integration.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively across different departments and functions.

Education & Certifications:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Business Architecture (e.g., TOGAF Foundation) are desirable but not essential.
