Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician

Your Role: The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy construction machinery used across our infrastructure projects. You will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with technical standards. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment performance.
How you will contribute to our success:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on construction machinery and fiber optics equipment (e.g. excavators, loaders, cranes, splicer, blowing machine, etc ).
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and carry out necessary repairs;
- Conduct inspections and safety checks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company standards;
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all equipment;
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure machinery availability and readiness;
- Support the procurement and inventory management of spare parts and tools;
- Provide technical input on equipment upgrades and replacements;
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and internal maintenance protocols;
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes.
To be a fit you will need:
- Ausbildung, Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field;
- 2+ years of proven experience in maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment;
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical components;
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools;
- Hands-on problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Valid driver’s license (required);
- Good knowledge of the German language (B2 level);
- Good knowledge of the English language;
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
