Presentation

Candidates are invited to apply for an SNSF-funded PostDoc position at the Department of Fundamental Neurosciences (DNF) at UNIL. The postdoctoral project aims to uncover the neuronal mechanisms underlying prodegenerative NMN regulation. It is a multidisciplinary approach performed in the fruit fly Drosophila.

Job information

Expected start date: Between October and December 2025.
Activity rate : 100%
Duration: 1 year, renewable.
Workplace: City of Lausanne, quartier UNIL-Bugnon, DNF.

Your responsibilities

The successful candidate will work on a project using state-of-the-art genetics, neuronal morphology and function, behavior, NAD+ metabolism, and molecular biology. In addition, the candidate will have opportunities to embrace already established techniques in the lab and develop novel approaches. Lastly, the candidate will contribute to the training and mentoring of graduate students, the preparation of manuscripts, and grant applications.

Your qualifications

  • Highly motivated, curious, and driven.
  • Ph.D. in life science, preferably in neuroscience.
  • Advanced understanding of fly genetics or metabolism.
  • Knowledge in cell biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, and physiology.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.

 

Desired qualifications
Experience in animal model systems, imaging, and metabolism.
