Duties

Maintains responsibility for accomplishment of all Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Actions goals and objectives.,Safeguards an artifact collection in excess of 1,000 pieces of U.S. Government historical property, including firearms.,Oversees and employs a volunteer work force in excess of 400 people.,Ensures a joint Museum and foundation annual review of the Memorandum of Understanding for Daily Operations.,Plans for visitor outreach for numerous school group visits and coordinates support for the numerous private events per year in museum spaces.,Ensures established Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements, policies, and standards are adhered to and met in support of the NMUSA mission and program requirements IAW major laws affecting museum administration/operations.,Serves as the Certifying Official for the Department of Army Security Guards and their Individual Reliability Program requirements and documentation.,Coordinates and works with the Army Historical Foundation, the Museum's retail operations to include the Museum's Cafe, Store, Army Action Center, special event management and catering.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and implementing high level operational policies and guidance for multiple subordinate departments within a large museum/history focused organization; formulating human capital, resource and budgetary plans for a large museum/history focused organization; developing short and long-range strategic program plans covering all aspects of museum/historical operations; and formulating and reviewing government support contracts and contractor compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Decision Making Strategic Thinking Technical Competence
