About the role.
As a Sanitation Worker, you will play a key role in cleaning production equipment, machines, and work areas. Responsibilities include handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, managing chemical accidents, dry clean-up, and safely disposing of waste. You’ll work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on quality, food safety, and teamwork.
What you’ll be doing.
- Clean and sanitize plant equipment to meet quality and bacterial standards
- Sanitize and inspect equipment effectively and efficiently
- Perform after-construction detail cleaning as needed
- Handle, prepare, and store cleaning chemicals and sanitizers
- Work around large processing equipment and safely use cleaning agents
- Operate power equipment (e.g., backpack vacuums, floor scrubbers, steam cleaners)
- Assist in transporting heavy equipment using forklifts or similar devices
- Work in wet, humid environments with temperature variations
- Use lifts and ladders, including extended periods on scissor lifts (certification required)
- Wear employer-specified PPE at all times and follow safety protocols
What you’ll need to be successful.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents related to sanitation and chemical safety
- Strong documentation and paperwork skills
- Effective verbal communication across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with others
- Physically capable of lifting/moving hoses and equipment weighing 20–80 lbs.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments (wet, humid, temperature changes)
- Willingness and ability to obtain High Lift and Scissor Lift certifications (up to 50ft heights)
