Position Overview
The Corporate Counsel will serve as a key member of our legal function, supporting the business across employment, compliance, and corporate matters. This role offers a unique opportunity for an attorney with employment law expertise to expand into broader corporate law responsibilities while receiving direct mentorship from an experienced General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities
- Employment Law & Compliance
- Provide counsel to management and HR on all employment-related matters, including compliance, employee relations, investigations, separations, policies, and best practices.
- Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local labor laws, ensuring timely updates to company policies.
- Contracts & Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, service arrangements, and commercial contracts.
- Support business teams in structuring agreements to align with operational goals while managing risk.
- Corporate & Governance Support
- Assist with corporate governance, board communications, and policy development.
- Contribute to internal controls and governance processes to ensure strong compliance infrastructure.
- Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to sales, operations, IT, and revenue cycle management teams, helping identify legal risks and craft practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Collaborate across functions to support business growth while protecting the company’s interests.
- Mentorship & Development
- Work closely with and receive guidance from our outside General Counsel to build the skillset required for future GC responsibilities.
- Stay current on legal trends in employment law, healthcare regulations, and DME industry standards, applying knowledge to anticipate challenges and opportunities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active admission to the California Bar.
- 3–7 years of experience in employment law (law firm or in-house experience preferred).
- Strong interest in broadening corporate law expertise and pursuing a career path toward General Counsel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues into clear, practical advice.
- High degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
- Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
