The Utility & Permit Specialist role is critical to the day-to-day execution of our EV charging, LED Lighting, and Solar project business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the timely application and coordination of new electrical services, interconnections, and the research, application, and processing of construction permits in multiple cities around the country. This position requires a high attention to detail and accuracy as well as very clear and proactive communication skills, both with internal teammates as well project stakeholders. This is hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.  

Target Salary: $68,000 - $80,000+ depending on experience

Utility & Permits Specialist Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the full process of obtaining new electrical services with utilities nationwide
  • Research and understanding of construction permit requirements, application process, and processing of construction permits in key markets nationwide.
  • Build relationships at electrical utilities, as well as municipalities to help expedite permit and service applications.
  • Monitor and track requested permits and electrical services via Smartsheet
  • Provide status feedback to project management on a regular basis.

Utility & Permits Specialist Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, College degree preferred.
  • 2+ years experience with permit application and processing.
  • Prior experience working with Electrical Utilities to process meters and services.
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Strong Communication, computer and organization skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and keyboard. May regularly need to lift up to 20 lbs., unassisted.
