SUMMARY
The stylist role is a creative and hands-on position that will shape and execute the visual direction of industry-leading photo and video content. Our studio team works cross-functionally with Packaging, Marketing, Sales and Ecommerce teams to produce a wide range of media across digital and print channels. This position leads in the composition of sets for media production, which includes a wide range of pre-production planning, involving set design, prop shopping, brand strategy, and internal communication with the studio team. On set responsibilities include set construction, styling, start to finish product preparation, as well as leading and working with others to accomplish these projects. This position requires a significant amount of thought leadership, planning, and has a leading hand in the studio daily workflow. This position requires someone to have a creative eye, a high attention to detail, an ability to organize schedules and storage, and a high degree of communication.
In addition to several in-house brands, Town & Country Living has partnerships with over 15 licensed brands, including KitchenAid, Martha Stewart, Kate Spade, etc. Using provided documentation and working closely with the Creative Studio Production Manager and the Digital Creative Director, this position will require an innate ability to execute against each brand’s identity, price point, customer demographic, and established brand guidelines. It is important that this person not only is physically capable of lifting and maneuvering 50 pounds or more, but that they are technically capable of managing projects in various digital tools we use to stay organized (including Trello Work Management System, Acquia Digital Asset Management, etc.). This job may additionally require a savvy ability to communicate with and direct assistants or freelance partners (PA, Stylists, Photographers).

You will be responsible for supporting both the creative and sales teams in helping produce, deliver and distribute high-quality content of all types for our wide range of categories. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong conceptual and photo/video styling direction skills
- Ability to lead by example and set the tone for creativity, efficiency, and style.
- Holds exceptional planning, creative, trend-forward styling, and finishing skills.
- Continuously research and increase knowledge for styling techniques and trends, challenging the status quo to propel content development.
- Ability to provide clarity and direction to junior level support staff and freelancers.
- Highly evolved sense of composition and an ability to work closely with the Photographer/Videographer to drive quality on set.
- Competency in providing visual guides and references to internal teams to communicate details and direction decided during pre-production planning.
- Work with Studio Manager to log and track set and prop budgets.
- Lead organization of short and long-term props and set materials, as well as sample receipt and inclusion in relevant shoots.
- Understand the importance of brand-building, cross-selling and continuity in collections, utilizing relevant product props in relevant shots.
- Ability to multi-task with simultaneous projects.
- Manage multiple deadlines by working quickly and accurately to deliver projects on time.
- Able to interpret brand style guidelines and differentiate styling requirements between them.
- Ability to successfully understand direction from other creative leadership and offer relevant feedback.
- Ability to maintain open communication and build trust with co-workers and superiors.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong passion for soft-home goods and an ease executing home styling, design and finishing.
- Comfortable designing sets and putting together set pieces (walls, windows, doorways), painting, and using basic power tools.
- A strong sense of design and style as it pertains to media (photo, video, social) and home/business design.
- Efficient and effective communicator who can manage relationships across multiple departments.
- Experience in directing others in a creative role.
- Positive attitude and able to pivot when met with unexpected challenges, delays or urgent projects.
- Ability to easily lift, carry and maneuver up to 50lb, but possibly more with assistance.
- A high energy team player that can successfully lead, motivate others and enjoys being a part of a larger team.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for possible set material runs or prop shopping.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in a creative or merchandising program or equivalent experience in relevant industry.
- 4+ years’ experience with product media (photo and/or video); PLEASE PROVIDE A LINK TO YOUR PORTFOLIO. Applications without a link will not be considered.
- Familiarity working in a photography studio, on film sets, with social/marketing teams, or theatrical environment with a clear understanding of the needs and demands of Stylists/Art Department.
- Proficient in Mac OS with working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Word.
- Fluency in other digital tools encouraged, especially DAM and project management tools.
