Description
Location: Omaha, NE (hybrid: office + home) | Schedule: Friday–Sunday (~38 hrs/week)
Hill Bros Logistics is looking for a reliable and motivated Logistics Operations Specialist to support our operations and keep freight moving during weekend hours. This unique hybrid role blends customer service, brokerage coordination, and account support with both in-office and home-based responsibilities.
The right candidate will be eager to learn multiple aspects of logistics or grow their existing knowledge base, gaining a well-rounded understanding of how Hill Bros delivers for our customers. During your first 90 days, you’ll rotate through training with our Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), Capacity Coordinators (CCs), and Account Managers (AMs) to build confidence in supporting weekend operations.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor weekend freight flow and performance metrics.
- Serve as the primary weekend contact for major accounts, addressing urgent needs and escalations.
- Communicate with customers, drivers, and carriers regarding pick-ups, deliveries, and service updates.
- Enter and maintain accurate load and customer information in the system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve service-related issues in real time.
- Coordinate with 3PL carriers to assign available freight as needed.
- Support general weekend flow by ensuring strong communication between all parties.
- Provide a concise end-of-weekend report to the HBL leadership team.
- Build cross-functional knowledge by shadowing and learning from CSRs, CCs, and AMs during office hours.
Requirements
Schedule (Approx. 38 hrs/week)
Friday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM (in office), then 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM (home office)
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (in office), then 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM (home office)
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 10:00PM: Morning check-in on performance numbers, then largely “on-call” depending on workload; required to provide an end-of-weekend report.
This position covers weekends only. Holidays are required.

- Logistics, transportation, brokerage, or account management experience preferred but not required — training provided.
