Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Quality Systems to lead our Quality Systems department, ensuring compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and certification standards (FSMA, SQF, USDA, FDA, Kosher, Halal, Organic, etc.). This role is instrumental in guiding quality initiatives, enhancing system effectiveness, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. The ideal candidate has strong regulatory expertise and a proven ability to develop talent and drive operational excellence across the Enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to Quality Systems staff to meet departmental goals

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, GFSI, etc.)

  • Manage quality documentation, audits, and customer complaint resolution

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on food safety, quality, and regulatory initiatives

  • Drive strategic improvements in quality systems, training, and performance metrics

What you need to be considered for the role:

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or other related field with an emphasis in dairy/cheese technology required. An equivalent level of education and experience may be considered.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in dairy product Quality Assurance required.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMs).
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite.
  • Must have a working knowledge of grade "A" standards and good manufacturing practices; must possess a working knowledge of all laboratory testing involving milk, cheese and whey.
  • Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously; define and maintain focus on department objectives balanced with project and other department needs.
  • Working Knowledge of Quality and Food Safety Systems.
  • Scientific knowledge and understanding of dairy and cheese making processes, scientific testing methodology, cheese chemistry/technology, microbiology.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, IMS, State Agencies - WDATC).

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in related field preferred.
