The role
We are seeking an outstanding Senior Research Associate, Nucleic Acid Biology (exact title flexible based on qualifications) to join us in ideating and building the next generation of Programmable Medicines. Our mission is to completely re-imagine nucleic acid therapeutics, casting aside long-standing dogma to pioneer integrated innovation at the cutting edge of both payload and delivery. This is a rare and unique opportunity to be one of the first employees of a biotech startup that combines an insurgent, swing-for-the-fences mindset with the backing, resources, and know-how of one of biotech’s leading VCs
Qualifications
- B.S. with 2+ years of experience in molecular biology OR M.S. with 1+ years of experience

Key responsibilities
- The core of this role is rigorously planning and executing Nucleic Acid Biology experiments. Key skillsets include:
- Methods for designing and producing nucleic acids (plasmid engineering and cloning, PCR, IVT, primer extension, ligation, etc.)
- Various methods for analyzing nucleic acids (gel electrophoresis, TapeStation, fragment analyzer, etc.)
- Various methods for purifying nucleic acids (various kits, phenol-chloroform, HPLC, etc.)
- Preparation of DNA/RNA sequencing libraries (Illumina) and basic sequence analysis
- Protein expression and purification from bacterial/mammalian cells
- In addition, experience with basic cell biology methods (cell maintenance, transfection, reporter assays, etc.) is highly desirable
