Role and Responsibilities

Adventure Medics is seeking an individual with the experience, motivation, and leadership qualities to help build and manage our critical care transport program at our headquarters in Bend, OR. We are the first dedicated ground critical care team in Central Oregon and strive to provide the best service possible to the area. Our transport operations include a dedicated critical care ambulance, two ALS ambulances, and three discharge vehicles.


The Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:


• Provide leadership and oversight on a daily basis

• Establish daily priorities for the team

• Directs and coordinates operations including planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all activities related to the Oregon transport division

• Attend and participate in outside agency meetings that may include evenings

• Maintain public relations with community partners and develop ongoing programs to promote customer satisfaction that may include evenings and weekends

• Developing and maintaining a clinical educational program in collaboration with team leads encouraging professional growth for team members. This includes establishing training goals and teaching team members on a regular basis

• Utilize existing learning management and customer relation programs

• Employee recruitment, onboarding, and orientation

• Lead and develop our QA/QI program and meet with divisional leads on a regular basis

• Maintain medical, training, and personnel files for transport team

• Make changes to existing standing orders in collaboration with our medical director based on current best practices

• Work closely with fleet manager to ensure that all transport vehicles are maintained and serviced on a regular basis

• Develop, implement, and update all necessary SOG’s

• Manage third party dispatch and billing partners

• Review analytics of transports and create reports for CEO

• Coordinate logistics cross divisionally for our event, medical, and training divisions

• Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies regarding EMS licensure, certification, NREMT

• Other duties as assigned by leadership


Education and experience:

Associates degree or above preferred

Graduate of a paramedic program

Ability to obtain OR Paramedic license

Critical Care certification preferred 

Five years minimum in a busy ambulance or hospital-based system

Five years' experience in an EMS leadership role


Skills required:

Working knowledge of computers and Office 365 products

Understanding of learning management software

Understanding of ImageTrend elite

Excellent communication skills

Solid leadership and mentoring skills

Experience in conflict resolution

Understanding of current EMS technologies
