Fertilizer Terminal Manager na Key Cooperative

We are hiring a Fertilizer Terminal Manager at our location in Nevada Iowa (10 miles east of Ames, IA).  In this role, you will be directing and managing the Nevada Fertilizer Terminal and assisting with the location agronomy facilities, equipment and personnel daily activities in a manner that demonstrates Key Cooperative’s Mission, Vision, Principles, and Brand Promise. The Fertilizer Terminal Manager will exhibit outstanding customer service and initiate safe and efficient operations in direct coordination with the multi-location managers, assistant location manager and the Agronomy Sales team. The Fertilizer Terminal Manager will perform other duties as assigned.

This role is for you if you have:

·      Associate or Bachelor's Degree (B.S.): or equivalent combination of education and experience.   

·     Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL A with hazmat endorsement and Commercial Pesticide Applicator License

·         Ability to work longer hours during peak seasons.

·         Ability to always project a positive attitude to customers and employees while exhibiting good customer relations skills.

What you will be doing:

• Overseeing plant personnel & assigned labor and coordinating with on-site contractors so that projects and tasks are coordinated and performed properly and safely.
• Organizing and directing all inbound and outbound fertilizer distribution.
• Developing an atmosphere of teamwork among plant personnel and assigned labor.
• Coordinating major repairs and facility improvements with the location manager as well as Agronomy Department Manager and keeping them informed of operational, customer, vendor or employee issues that may arise.
• Precisely blending and loading fertilizer, agricultural chemicals, and pesticides based upon recommendations and label directions.
• Verifying quantity, quality and package integrity of inbound inventory and record any deviations from the bill of lading.
• Monitoring & maintaining necessary seasonal product inventories, ensuring timely input of required paperwork from purchase order to delivery and invoicing, and performing regular counts and reconciliations (monthly & annually) submitting the required inventory reports on a timely basis.
• Coordinating day-to-day operations with the location manager and the agronomy sales team as necessary to serve our customers as timely & efficiently as possible.
• Maintaining good, regular communication with the Grain Division in coordinating rail activities & assisting in the planning and administration of railroad logistics and the development of long-lasting relationships with rail and motor carriers.
• Maintaining clean facilities and equipment so that they are always in safe operating condition.
• Maintaining all records required by OSHA or Key Cooperative's safety procedures, utilizing appropriate software for documentation.
• Supporting and enforcing policies and procedures resulting in a safe work and customer environment, safety first employee attitudes and safe driving practices.
• Promoting Key Cooperative's products and services to customers and project a positive attitude and image to customers and employees at all times.
