Aircraft Mechanic III - Armament na Tyonek Native Corporation

**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD**

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The team will augment services provided by Air Force military personnel to modify, maintain, inspect, control corrosion, overhaul, repair, regenerate and store various weapon systems, related components, missiles, engines, ground support equipment and vehicles.

DUTIES:

• Perform disassembly, inspections, operation tests, troubleshooting, assembly, installation, and other necessary maintenance functions at an advanced level on launchers, racks, gun systems, and pylons IAW Work Control Documents (WCD) and applicable technical order (TO) data.
• May be required to receive just-in-time (JIT) training from the Government for other aircraft MDS armament system removal, installation, and operational checkout as required.
• Receive specialty armament training on A-10 and F-16 to remove/install guns and drums on such aircraft as well as accomplish applicable documentation and operational checkouts.
• Assist with limited towing
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 8 years of applicable experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be capable of working in a potentially hostile environment for an extended period. May be required to travel to and between remote location(s) in austere environments. May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.

Physical Requirements:

A. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

B. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

C. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

D. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

E. May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.

F. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.

G. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.

H. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.

I. May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
