Primary Responsibilities
- managing accounting and financial support activities for Publix Facilities operations, including capital spending, Facilities-managed store maintenance work and Cabinet Shops,
- leading the financial portion of strategic planning, financial software implementations and associated strategic support of Facilities and other corporate operations for the purpose of guiding senior management decisions on project, process and operational improvements,
- financial oversight, controls review and reporting of Facilities’ SAP-based production activities related to Cabinet Shops (Lak, Jax and Mia) and Remanufacture Shop (Lak), and related account reviews,
- leading the planning and strategic support for financial aspects of Facilities Strategic Initiatives (SI), Strategy Management System (SMS) and other large-scale, cross-functional special projects, and
- direction, development and mentoring of the Finance team.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or another analytical discipline or equivalent experience
- 8 years relevant business experience in analytical accounting/finance work in an office environment
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), general business practices, and financial statements, as well as business practices specific to Publix
- Knowledge of Distribution, Facilities Maintenance, Systems, Manufacturing, or Retail/Retail Support functions and environments
- Knowledge of asset accounting
- Knowledge of SOX requirements and internal controls
- Advanced analytical skills (including ability to use statistics and quantitative methods), critical thinking skills, the ability to develop financial modeling tools, use forecasting skills and make judgments using sound business acumen
- Change management, negotiation and persuasion skills
- Communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to listen and communicate effectively with various levels of Publix associates and management

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA with concentration in Accounting or Finance
- 12 years of relevant business experience and 5 years of associate supervision experience
- Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Professional, or other certifications specific to the position
- Knowledge of the Publix retail store environment and operations, as well as the support department structure
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws pertaining to employee management
- Knowledge of Publix policies and guidelines
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Advanced knowledge of Publix structured writing templates such as procedures, memos and financial summaries
- Advanced skills in SAP Project Systems and Fixed Asset modules
- Basic knowledge in Landmark and Tririga (Compass)
- Basic knowledge in Other primary Publix systems (Service Hub, EDW, Host, PIMS, Marwood, FINDSS, DB2, APT Test & Learn, Market Basket Analyzer, Benchmarker, Sharepoint, etc.) and the interrelationships of those systems including knowing where and how to pull data, how to verify the accuracy of pulled data and understanding the workflow of these various systems.
