SUMMARY
Responsible for the receiving supervisory function relating to the planning, storage, control, and distribution of materials and product to meet company objectives and customer requirements in a high volume multi-site environment. The Receiving Supervisor, provides the team leadership to ensure that all incoming products are built in and inventoried accordance with OEM and customer specifications by performing the following duties. The Receiving Supervisor supports core processing, materials and manufacturing personnel to ensure that all incoming transmission core are properly identified, stored and delivered in to accordance with OEM and customer specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Provide the team leadership for receiving, storage and delivery processes.
- Responsible for all core storage.
- Direct contact for all core receiving and processing issues.
- Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees and safety.
- Maintain a quality work environment, including good housekeeping (i.e. 5S).
- Ensure that core receiving and core processing conforms with standards.
- Assists in resolution of core credit issues.
- Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Interfaces with other locations and operations to ensure timely and accurate receipt and issuance of all material.
- Responsible for development and adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 14001 systems.
- Perform general responsibilities of a receiving inspector.
- Coordinate work load, schedule for receiving and receiving inspection, and parts room areas.
- Obtain rework procedures from Engineering.
- Direct contact for all OEM Receiving Inspection issues.
- Maintain and track quarantine and validation inventory levels.
- Responsible for development and adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 14001 systems.
- Provide the necessary team leadership as required for incoming inspection processes and component warehousing activity.
- Assists in resolution of supplier product quality issues.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and manages personnel and activities to ensure effective and efficient processing, of materials while continuously striving for improvement in all materials processes.
- Supervises physical inventory in multiple warehouses.
- Responsible for the logistics of transporting materials from various facilities and suppliers.
- Responsible for the motivation and development of employees, their performance, and their personal and professional growth.
- Assures that established policy, rules, regulations and procedures are followed.
- Operate a forklift.
- Responsible for ensuring budgetary goals are met or exceeded.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises up to 10 to 20 employees in the Receiving Department throughout multiple sites in the region. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A 2 year technical degree and/or 2 year technical experience in Production Materials or Quality Departments.
- 3 to 5 years experience in production or quality assurance department within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certification in mechanical inspector or quality technician proficiency.
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including: decision making, problem solving, organization skills, attention to detail, team development, etc.
