The General Foreman supervises a crew of insulators. Responsible for coordinating and training. Consulting with clients and contractors, assigns tasks, making sure jobs are done on time, and monitoring performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversees and manages trades; Coordinates safety inspections
2. Responsible for ensuring that individuals who work under him/her, carry out their tasks and duties diligently and effectively for successful completion.
3. He/she ensures that all equipment and facilities needed by workers to enable them work effectively are made available and are in good condition.
4. A general foreman ensures that workers maintain a high level of quality of the work.
5. Organizes meetings such as safety talks, daily meetings, etc.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders and/or scaffolds.
• The employee frequently is required to sit, bend, stand, walk, or squat; use hands and arms to finger, feel, reach for, handle, and/or manipulate objects.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and ability to adjust focus (either naturally or with correction).
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
• Must be able to work around concrete and various concrete mixtures, curing compounds, acids, chemicals, brick cleaning solutions, fuel vapors, dust, paints, varnishes, and other industrial chemicals, etc. without allergic reactions.
• Must be able to work at great heights without fear.
• Must be able to work in heat and cold weather.
• The noise level in the work environment and job sites is usually loud.


REQUIREMENTS

• Proven ability to build and lead high performing teams
• 5+ years of relevant experience within industrial construction including Strong insulation, asbestos and coatings knowledge.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Must be able to work in hot or cold environment
• Scheduling experience

This position does not pay per diem
