Summary: The Senior SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for delivering reliable, cost-effective, and secure support for business-critical production and non-production databases. This role requires on-site presence and expert-level knowledge in all aspects of SQL Database Administration, ensuring that enterprise-wide database systems are optimized and fully functional.
Responsibilities:
- Install and upgrade SQL Servers, applying necessary service packs.
- Perform routine database maintenance, including creating and scheduling SQL Server jobs, rebuilding indexes, and updating statistics.
- Manage SQL Server disk space, ensuring proper utilization of storage.
- Establish and manage database backup and recovery standards and schedules.
- Develop recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO objectives, and restore databases with point-in-time recovery.
- Create and test Disaster Recovery plans.
- Develop and tune TSQL coding and ETL methodologies.
- Implement and manage SQL Server High Availability methods, such as mirroring and Always On.
- Monitor and resolve database errors using error logs and event logs.
- Utilize SQL Server native tools and services like SQL Server Profiler, Index Tuning Advisor, and Performance Monitor.
- Manage SQL Server security and auditing, including user security and encryption at rest, transit, and backup.
- Conduct capacity planning for storage and database objects.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 6 years of experience with SQL Server 2016 or later versions.
- Proficient in SQL Server High Availability methods and TSQL coding.
- Comprehensive experience in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Expertise in managing SQL Server security, auditing, and encryption.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server native tools and services.
- Strong capacity planning skills for storage and database objects.
- On-site presence is required for this role.
