Description

Austin PBS is looking for a mid-level Content Creator for Austin City Limits music television series; this role will create, post and manage content on ACL’s digital properties, live streams, video platforms and social media accounts. This person will approach content creation and curation from a storytelling perspective, and will own day-to-day execution of social media outreach, engagement, monitoring and reporting. This position is a key part of a motivated team of communicators and brand builders growing awareness and enthusiasm for Austin City Limits as the television series continues its legacy as the longest running music program on television, now in its 51st season.

This role is responsible for being on-site for all 20+ tapings a year, plus ancillary events that promote the brand across our local market. This person will work with the Marketing Manager  for Austin City Limits and will report into the Austin PBS Marketing Team to develop and execute a results-driven digital media strategy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create, edit and maintain written, video and photo content for social media that builds community and demonstrates ACL’s authenticity, legacy and passion for music
  • Own the storytelling from conception through production with a focus on editing and animation..
  • Attend approximately twenty-five live events each year and produce live social media content.
  • Engage with fans, artists, followers, and other accounts on social media platforms in a positive and meaningful way while maintaining brand voice.
  • Set up live streaming events and monitor live stream chat and technical aspects throughout the entire taping process.
  • Maintain a content calendar, and determine best post times based on social media data and reporting.
  • Produce promotional assets for each ACL episode, live stream and taping - including graphics, video clips, social media posts, promotion plans and toolkits distributed to artists, PBS and PBS stations.
  • Execute effective online advertising campaigns and build/maintain relationships with key contacts at Meta, Google, and other vendors/partners.
  • Collaborate with other communications team members to maintain consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
  • Develop and contribute to digital strategies that support Austin PBS’ goals and KPIs.
  • Upload, schedule, optimize and organize content on ACL web properties and video platforms (YouTube, PBS video, acltv.com, etc.).
  • Research social media trends and apply industry best practices.
  • Track and report on social media campaign performance and social trends.
  • Effectively engage diverse perspectives and experiences in work products and in

organizational interactions, and demonstrate respect for others in all workplace relationships.

  • Be onsite and available for all 20+ tapings per year, including branded partnerships and local events throughout the year to support brand marketing needs.

Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of ad agency experience preferred, specifically social media management and digital content creation
  • Portfolio required
  • Passion for music and familiarity with the Austin City Limits TV brand
  • Enthusiasm for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms/social media management tools
  • Strong visual, editing and copywriting skills
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Critical thinking, multi-tasking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem solving ability to work proactively and independently with limited direction
  • Ability to work non-standard hours in support of major activities and emergencies

Preferred Job Requirements:

Proficiency with Sprout Social, Later, Google Analytics, YouTube, Facebook Business Manager and Creator Studio, Adobe Creative Suite (PremierePro, Rush, Photoshop), Wordpress, and basic HTML coding. Live streaming and graphic design experience also preferred.


This is a full time salaried position currently working hybrid. Starting salary at 65k, salary will be commensurate with experience.
