Are you looking to begin or boost your career in welding and fabrication? We have an exciting opportunity for a Welder Prep./Helper to join our dynamic team! In this position, you'll play a crucial role in helping our skilled Welders produce high-quality prototypes and assemblies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Welding Process: Assist our Welders by reading assembly prints, weld maps, and welding process documents to set up prototypes and subassemblies using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) or TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas).
    • Under the direction of Welding Line Supervisor, finishes, grinds, and fabricates components to drawing specifications.  
  • Use Tools Effectively: Operate a variety of hand and machine tools, including saws, grinders, and drills, to create components that meet our quality standards.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure all products conform to ISO standards and company quality control requirements. 
    • Accurately measures parts using both metric and imperial systems.
    • Completes all paperwork accurately and keeps work area clean. 
  • Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the Welding Line Supervisor and report on your progress, while maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
  • Prioritize Safety: Follow all safety procedures and promptly report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience & Education: A two-year technical certificate from an accredited technical school is greatly preferred. One to two years of relevant training and/or direct work experience is required. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required. 
  • Mechanical Aptitude: You should have a knack for working with tools and interpreting assembly prints.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective teamwork and documentation. Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as material lists, procedure prints, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions.  Must have ability to write routine job reports and complete required paperwork.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and 150 pounds occasionally (with assistance), and perform various physical tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must have good motor skills/function, hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and good visual skills with or without correction.

Other Requirements: 

  • This position requires an employee to safely operate and maintain welding equipment and forklifts.   
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to, and may come in direct contact with potentially hazardous chemicals or materials. Therefore, the employee must follow proper safety procedures.  
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud; must be able to focus and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, loud manufacturing environment. 
  • If selected, candidate will be required to apply for a welding certificate.

  1. This position requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or status as a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). 
  2. This is an on-site role, and remote work arrangements are not available. Candidates must be willing and able to work at our facility during designated working hours.
