Huntington University has an opening for a Digital Media Specialist.
This position serves the University through the creation of institutional media, photography, videography, digital assets, marketing materials, as well as social media management to market HU to both internal and external audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred

- Essential soft skills include attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and collaboration
- Strong technical skills in camera operation, editing, lighting, and audio
- Bachelor’s degree required; in an area related to photography/videography preferred
- 3 years of professional activity in the field of photography and videography at an agency, business, non-profit, educational, ministry, or sports-related organization. Or freelance services for similar organizations.
- Portfolio of creative work available for review
- Mastery of photography and video software and hardware (specifically Adobe Creative Suite; Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
- Familiarity with RAW editing software: This could be within Lightroom, or dedicated RAW editors like Capture One or ON1 Photo RAW
- Familiarity with motion graphic software such as After Effects
- Beyond software skills, a strong understanding of fundamental photography and videography principles, composition, lighting, color theory, and storytelling is essential.
- Proficiency with common office software and hardware (specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams)
- Ability to acquire additional software skills and professional proficiencies as needed
- Demonstrated understanding of marketing principles and practices
- A high level of organizational ability
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Social media management skills such as platform proficiency, content creation, audience engagement, and analysis of key metrics
- Understanding of how to create content for online use, such as the university’s website
