POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Administration Director, the Wedding and Event Manager is responsible for the supervision and operation of all weddings and events at YMCA Camp Campbell. This includes planning, set-up, execution, and tear down, staying in contact with the client throughout the event to ensure the highest guest satisfaction possible, being a kitchen liaison, and supervising hourly staff. As a part of the Client Services and Admin teams, this position helps with the planning, staffing, and execution of other weekend programs. This position will also be responsible for training and supervision of staff, day of coordination, guest communication, and marketing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee effective daily operation of all weddings and events.
- Conduct all assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Promote camp through tours, presentations and on-line media, including frequent posting.
- Communicate expectations and YMCA policies clearly with guests.
- Build a strong client base and recruit new clients each year.
- Provide effective communication and leadership to staff and interdepartmentally.
- Work with the Program Directors to actively support and assist with weekend programs.
- Monitor program practices to assure compliance with ACA and health and safety standards.
- Conduct end of wedding and event evaluations with clients.
- Take corrective action to make appropriate adjustments to rectify reoccurring issues in evaluations.
- Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
The physical demands of the position include:
- Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
- Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds.
- Being alert, awake, and able to respond to needs of client groups, during the duration of the groups' stay at camp. This will often require being on-call overnight.
