Position Summary:

The Racquet Court Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of tennis, pickleball, and bocce playing conditions and facility appearance while leading and overseeing the court maintenance team. This position plays a critical role in member satisfaction by maintaining exceptional court standards, managing daily operations, and supervising staff performance in a professional, safe, and efficient manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide daily direction, scheduling, and oversight for racquet court maintenance employees.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members on proper care techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures for tennis, pickleball, and bocce courts.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review work priorities, upcoming events, and member service standards.
  • Monitor performance, provide feedback, and participate in performance evaluations with the Director of Tennis.

 Court & Facility Maintenance

  • Oversee the daily preparation and maintenance of all tennis, pickleball, and bocce courts, ensuring surfaces meet club quality standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of surrounding areas including patios, decks, walkways, and storage areas.
  • Inspect and coordinate repairs of nets, windscreens, lines, awnings, irrigation systems, bocce surface material, and court lighting.
  • Maintain and oversee proper use and care of all court maintenance equipment; arrange service and repairs as needed.

Member Service & Communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Pro Shop and Director of Tennis regarding court conditions and repairs.
  • Proactively communicate issues, solutions, and timelines for resolution.
  • Support a welcoming environment by modeling professionalism and courteous service to members and their guests.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain maintenance schedules, checklists, and inspection logs for tennis, pickleball, and bocce courts.
  • Track supply levels and coordinate ordering of materials (e.g., clay, bocce surface mix, line tape, nets, water hoses, tools, cleaning supplies).
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA standards, and club policies.
  • Assist the Director of Tennis in planning for seasonal projects, renovations, and budgeting needs across all racquet and bocce facilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position has supervisory responsibilities of court maintenance team.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of tennis/pickleball/bocce court maintenance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of HydroGrid systems, clay surface care, bocce court maintenance materials, and related equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in training, scheduling, and supervising staff.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  The Racquet Court Maintenance Supervisor should have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  The Racquet Court Maintenance Supervisor should also have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the club.
