Collects comprehensive family medical histories and assists with data collection and evaluation. Coordinates treatment plans and communicates with involved personnel. Assists with coordinating research studies and workflows. Prepares reports, maintains records, and complies with all regulations.
Aid in facilitating all aspects of genetic testing through medical and surgical oncology clinics. Responsibilities include showing a genetics educational video, completing testing paperwork, obtaining insurance prior authorization, collecting and shipping samples, disclosing results, documenting in the electronic medical record (EMR), informing patient's healthcare providers of results, and referring to genetics when appropriate. Assist in coordinating activities for research protocols, within guidelines established by the Professor of Medicine, such as completion of regulatory requirements (e.g. IRB), consent patients into research studies, collect and collate data per established protocols, prepare reports, maintain files, and analyze data. Act as a patient advocate and serves as a liaison between the patients, members of the health care team, and genetic testing laboratories. Other duties as assigned.
