Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Global Commercial Counsel to lead our enterprise-wide approach to commercial contracting and global legal capability. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this role will serve as the company’s senior authority on commercial transactions, contracts governance, and global deal execution.

This leader will establish and scale a consistent contracting framework across all regions, balancing business enablement with rigorous risk management. They will also develop the systems, templates, playbooks, and training to elevate Brink’s global commercial legal capability.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

Global Contracting Leadership

  • Design and oversee a global contracting framework to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all business units.
  • Lead negotiation of the company’s most strategic and complex global customer and vendor agreements.
  • Serve as the primary legal advisor for global sales, procurement, and strategic partnerships.

Capability Building

  • Develop standard templates, playbooks, and self-service tools to enable faster deal execution.
  • Implement training and knowledge-sharing programs for regional and functional legal teams.
  • Drive adoption of technology solutions to streamline contract lifecycle management.

Strategic Advisory

  • Partner with senior business leaders to align contracting strategies with global commercial goals.
  • Provide legal input to strategic initiatives, including digital services, outsourcing, and M&A integration.
  • Anticipate regulatory and contractual risks, providing practical solutions that protect the enterprise.

Governance & Compliance

  • Establish enterprise-wide policies for contract approval, delegation of authority, and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with regional counsel to ensure alignment with global standards while meeting local legal requirements.
  • Oversee external counsel relationships for commercial matters worldwide, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

Leadership & Influence

  • Serve as a visible leader within the global legal function, mentoring regional legal teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CLO and Executive Leadership Team on commercial matters.
  • Represent Brink’s in negotiations with major multinational customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent international law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with significant time spent in global commercial transactions and complex contract negotiations.
  • Experience leading commercial legal matters in a multinational corporation; prior VP or senior counsel experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong track record in building contracting capability and governance at scale (playbooks, systems, global standards).
  • Deep understanding of risk allocation, data privacy, technology contracts, and global regulatory considerations.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to operate at the C-suite level.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience in a global environment.
  • Uncompromising integrity and sound business judgment.
