THE POSITION
The Billing Clerk plays a vital role in the accurate preparation and processing of electric utility bills for Moreno Valley Utility customers. This entry-level position involves routine clerical and accounting tasks, including verifying billing data, processing service orders, performing account adjustments, and responding to customer inquiries. The Billing Clerk supports MVU’s revenue collection efforts and ensures compliance with city policies and regulatory standards. Success in this role requires precision, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to navigate billing systems and enterprise software in a dynamic environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school, or G.E.D. equivalent, and some paid or volunteer experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
An associate degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
ABOUT THE MORENO VALLEY UTILITY DIVISION
The Moreno Valley Utility (MVU) manages the operation, maintenance, and business planning of the City’s electric utility. The City began serving new customers in February 2004, providing safe, reliable, and economical public electric service with a focus on innovative customer solutions, infrastructure enhancement, community development, and environmentally responsible resource management.
