Job Title:  Solutions Pricing Analyst

SUMMARY:

Solutions pricing analyst will play a crucial role in providing accurate and competitive pricing quotes and excellent customer service to our new and existing customers on a spot basis, contributing to maximizing revenue through spot quotes. Negotiating with new and current clients to retain and expand day to day business. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review customer inquiries (SOL leds) and requirements to understand their shipping needs, preferences, and constraints
  • Obtain ocean and air rates from overseas agents to prepare for spot quotations
  • Procure and negotiate existing day to day rates for air, ocean, and domestic ground
  • Analyze, quote, and price new and current clients with negotiated rates obtained through agents or vendors
  • Verify if spot quotation has been approved to execute operational activities; if no approval for spot quotation, obtain corresponding feedback which must be logged in CargoWise
  • Assist Operations and Accounts Receivable with any pricing updates and OPS led spot quotes
  • Be informed of current market conditions, freight rates, transportation costs, and other relevant factors to determine competitive and profitable pricing for spot quotations
  • Calculate costs associated with freight transportation and upsell customs clearance, warehousing, insurance, and other related services to determine the total cost to provide freight forwarding solutions
  • Collaborate with the solution design/sales/account management teams to ensure that all spot quote opportunities are properly qualified and pursued based on customer name, volumes, scaling requests
  • Use the ticketing system to document agent and vendor customer services or lack of rate structure for spot quotations 
  • Maintain the OPS led quotes and rate maintenance report in alignment with operations

 This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 High School Diploma or GED and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.   Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY:
 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
