JOB TITLE:
Molding Technician I (temp-to-hire)
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Molding Technician I will support the production department by assisting the senior level technicians. Duties include learning Toray’s quality standard by understanding how to check for defects of parts. The Technician I will review the quality process and find quality issues with oversight from senior technicians. As time progresses, the technician I should be able to follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision to complete allocated tasks. Tasks would include assisting set up of the machine with full oversight from senior technicians, and troubleshoot minor production related issues. Additionally, the technician I should be able to follow procedures which include use of personal protection equipment (where relevant) to safeguard theirselves and other employees. The Molding Technician I, will be trained and expected to dispose of hazmat waste safetly and in the proper area.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Operations:
• Work alongside a senior level technicians to ensure the machine is running smoothly
• Follow instructions and work under close supervision to complete the allocated tasks.
• With oversight, set up and operate machine for advanced composite materials
• Preparation of the product for processing, loading and unloading product from the equipment
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
• With guidance, turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and set cure times
• Use of hand tools and shop equipment
• Preparation of the product for processing, loading, and unloading product from the equipment
• Escalates equipment and production issues by notifying Lead/Supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead/Supervisor or designee
Quality:
• Understand how to check for defects on the line
• Review and understand the quality process and identify quality issues with senior technicians with oversight.
Safety
- Follow safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment)
- Dispose hazmat waste in proper area
- Maintain a clean working environment
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 1 year of experience working with composites or productions department
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Math and basic computer skills required (Math test is given during interview)
- Ability to complete simple conversions
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions for machine operation
- Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English
- Able to work and communicate as a team
- Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner
- Excellent attendance; ability to work overtime, weekends and off shifts when needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be capable of lifting up to 55 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time

COMPENSATION: $23.00-$24.15 DOE
