The Role:

 

Andersen is seeking a motivated professional with strong technical skills to join our firm as a Security Analyst Senior Associate. This role focuses on delivering exceptional technical security services to protect both Andersen's and its clients' data. You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals, working closely with them to support innovative projects and gain real-world experience in various security functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform network security monitoring and incident response.
  • Maintain and report records of security activities to upper management.
  • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises through detailed reviews and analyses of relevant event information.
  • Evaluate and deconstruct potential malware threats on the network while working with an active third-party monitoring service.
  • Analyze large sets of data to discover potential indications of compromise.
  • Assist with the implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
  • Consolidate and conduct comprehensive threat data analysis.
The Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline, globally recognized certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • 1+ years of full-time information security-related experience. Perform client and vendor audits.
  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as A+, Security+, CCNA, MCP.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Firsthand experience with the latest versions of Microsoft Server technologies, including Exchange, SQL, SCCM, Domain Controllers, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of backup and disaster recovery methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco networking products.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with HP Server Hardware and VMware ESXi.
  • Exposure to SAN technologies with an understanding of iSCSI.
  • Strong understanding of basic networking components, including DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
  • Strong experience with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, mobile device management, and PC hardware.
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills and solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices within Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • This position may require overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Identify, research, and resolve technical issues related to laptops, servers, and network technology.
  • Oversee ongoing deployments, updates, and prioritize various application upgrades or development.
  • Administer internal software such as Microsoft Exchange, SQL, SCCM, SharePoint, Domain Controllers, File Servers, and Print Servers4.
  • Monitor internal infrastructure for issues and resolve them as necessary.
  • Create and manage virtual machines in a VMware environment.
  • Develop guidelines and training resources documentation.
  • Manage and monitor data room/office systems such as UPS, HVAC, cameras, and badge systems.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and be available after business hours to address critical issues and deployments.
  • Working knowledge of application and infrastructure security solutions (Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Network Security, Password Management, Data Encryption, and Access Control

Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Buffalo, New York, the expected hourly rate/salary for this role is $90,000 - $108,000; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire. We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
