THE ROLE:   
    
ProbablyMonsters is seeking an experienced English String and Localization Manager to lead localization efforts across our growing slate of original IPs. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and maintaining English string standards, managing localization pipelines, and ensuring our games are globally accessible. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable workflows, manage vendor relationships, and drive geopolitical and cultural review processes.  This role is pivotal in ensuring our games resonate with global audiences through high-quality translations. 
    
WHO YOU ARE:   
  • You have experience leading game localization efforts, ideally in a multi-project environment.
  • You are analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • You have experience in building and maintaining localization pipelines.
  • You can manage budgets, schedules, and track milestones.
  • You are passionate about making games and committed to delivering culturally sensitive, high-quality content.
  • You can effectively set standards and advocate for their adoption.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:   
  • Lead localization efforts, including text, voice-over (VO), and graphical assets.
  • Set and maintain English string standards to ensure clarity, consistency, and localization readiness.
  • Develop and enforce localization guidelines, style guides, and glossaries.
  • Collaborate with development teams to define localization schedules, goals, budgets, and milestones. - Source, onboard, and manage external vendors for translation, LQA, and geopolitical review.
  • Integrate translations and corrections during LQA and ensure seamless implementation.
  • Work with UI/UX and Audio teams to establish localization-friendly workflows and tools.
  • Support geopolitical and cultural review processes in partnership with Legal and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:    
  • 3+ years of professional game localization experience, including hands-on game localization and internationalization.
  • Expertise in translation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of game development pipelines, especially in narrative, UI, and audio integration.
  • Experience managing global teams and vendors across time zones and geographies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
PREFERRED SKILLS:    
  • Experience with AI-powered translation tools and post-editing workflows.
  • Familiarity with localization file formats (.xml, .json, .csv, .po).
  • Knowledge of geopolitical sensitivities and regulatory compliance in global markets.
  • Background in game narrative, voice-over production, or UI/UX localization.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine.

Compensation:    
  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
  • In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
