Job Profile
Dance instructors are required to teach recreational dance programs to children and youth between the ages two to twelve years old. Dance instructors will explain and demonstrate techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical or rhythmic accompaniment.
What you will be doing

Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating lessons for all levels of participants
-
Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
-
Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
-
Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports)
-
Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
-
Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
-
Attend meetings/training as required
-
Performs other duties as assigned
Experience and Knowledge
-
Must possess experience in ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop, and may be required to choreograph and direct dance performances
-
Strong, professional leadership qualities that help motivate and encourage participants is required
-
Experience working with children and youth in a recreation setting
-
Proven experience planning, implementing and supervising participants in groups

Rate of pay
The hourly rate for this position will vary depending on qualifications within the hourly range of $17.20 to $40.00.
Hours of work
Hours are dependent on the number of participants taking part in our programs; as such, there are no minimum hours associated with this position.
