WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the Motorsports Operations Manager, you will lead the coordination and execution of all motorsports events. This includes overseeing registration, gate, concessions, and Flagging & Communications (F&C) operations; managing staff schedules; training and supervising team members; and ensuring compliance with event and club requirements. You will be the primary point of contact for clients and staff during events, responsible for radio communications, safety oversight, and daily operational decisions. In the off-season, you will manage staff training programs, equipment and uniform readiness, and track visibility/line-of-sight maintenance to ensure smooth and safe operations year-round.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinate all event preparation and support activities.
- Oversee registration and gate operations, ensuring accuracy and smooth customer flow.
- Prepare, reconcile, and report event-related financial transactions (gate receipts, etc.).
- Be knowledgeable and capable in all Flagging & Communications (F&C) Track Marshal positions.
- Step in as needed to cover Registration, Gate, or F&C roles.
- Recruit, interview, and train new Registration, Gate, and F&C staff.
- Manage scheduling, staffing assignments, and daily event instructions for Registration, Gate, and F&C personnel.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate event staff, maintaining performance records.
- Operate the event radio system (“Race Net”), responding promptly to staff and customer needs.
- Oversee uniforms, equipment, and workstations for Registration, Gate, and F&C staff.
- Coordinate maintenance of F&C visibility/line-of-sight areas on each circuit year-round.
- Develop and implement F&C team training programs and manuals during the off-season.
- Coordinate training with FATT Instructor Clinic.
- Review and submit staff time sheets in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear communication with the Director of Motorsports and other supervisors regarding event operations.

Requirements
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Motorsports operations.
- Prior knowledge of radio communication systems.
- Prior knowledge of Motorsports safety protocols and track operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and participants.
- Demonstrated ability to interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
- Experience scheduling multiple roles to support day-to-day event operations.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred:
- Prior knowledge of Summit Point Motorsports Park
- Bachelor's Degree
- OSHA 30 certification
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is very active and requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, use of hands, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 100 pounds.
