Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; availability for early shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed

Role Summary

The Countertop Plant Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day operations of the countertop fabrication plant while owning the P&L to ensure efficiency, profitability, and growth. This role combines oversight of supplier relationships, plant engineering, production management, safety, and people leadership. The Plant Manager drives operational excellence by optimizing labor efficiency, ensuring supplier reliability, enforcing safety and quality standards, and building a high-performance culture.

Success in this role is measured by achieving P&L targets, consistently meeting customer requested dates, maximizing fabrication first-pass yield (RTY), minimizing remake rates, reducing Labor Hours per Square Foot (pSQFT), ensuring supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance, and maintaining zero recordable injuries or OSHA violations with full compliance to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Leadership & P&L Management

· Lead and oversee all countertop fabrication operations, including job prep, cutting, polishing, staging, and installer load out.

· Own plant-level P&L, driving revenue growth, cost efficiency, and profitability.

· Align production capacity and staffing to meet demand while controlling labor costs.

· Provide executive-level reporting on financial and operational performance.

Supplier Relationship Management

· Own and develop strong partnerships with countertop vendors to ensure pricing, lead time, quality, and availability.

· Implement supplier scorecards, conduct quarterly business reviews, and hold vendors accountable for performance.

· Coordinate raw material supply, delivery schedules, and remnant inventory management with suppliers.

· Collaborate with the Inventory Coordinator to ensure accurate inventory management, material availability, and proper tracking of remnants and supplies.

Engineering & Plant Optimization

· Lead technical and engineering improvements including equipment optimization, automation, and workstation redesign.

· Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce rework, downtime, and waste.

· Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime and ensure reliability.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

· Enforce quality standards to meet builder specifications and minimize escaped defects.

· Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce remake rates.

· Ensure full compliance with OSHA, PPE, and all company safety policies.

· Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and monthly trainings to maintain a culture of safety.

People Leadership & Development

· Hire, train, and coach supervisors and frontline employees to build a skilled and motivated workforce.

· Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and promote accountability at all levels.

· Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and pride in plant performance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· P&L Performance (Revenue, Gross Margin, Operating Costs)

Requirements

  

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)

· 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role

· Strong knowledge of countertop fabrication processes, materials (quartz, granite, solid surface), and equipment

· Proven experience in P&L management and supplier negotiations

· Demonstrated success implementing lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives

· Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills

· Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel
