COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. We are dedicated to serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and providing comprehensive emergency and long-term services to help them escape the dangerous streets of Skid Row. Established in 1891, URM is now one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Engagement Officer plays a key role in securing and stewarding corporate partnerships to support URM’s programs and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, this position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting corporate donors, developing sponsorship and cause marketing opportunities, and fostering long-term corporate engagement. The ideal candidate is a dynamic relationship-builder with experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or sales.

CORPORTATE ENGAGEMENT OFFICER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and secure corporate partnerships that align with URM’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Develop customized engagement strategies for corporate donors, ensuring alignment with their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between URM and corporate donors, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Develop and promote corporate sponsorship opportunities for URM’s events, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Identify and cultivate cause marketing collaborations that leverage corporate brands to drive funding and awareness for URM.
  • Work closely with the marketing events team to create compelling sponsorship packages and partnership proposals.
  • Design and implement corporate employee engagement programs, including volunteer days, team-building service projects, and matching gift campaigns.
  • Collaborate with URM’s volunteer services team to provide meaningful experiences that connect corporate partners with the mission.
  • Craft persuasive proposals, grant applications, and reports that communicate the impact of corporate philanthropy.
  • Work with program teams to track and share outcomes, success stories, and measurable results.
  • Ensure corporate partners receive timely recognition, acknowledgment, and ongoing engagement opportunities.
  • Oversee fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and ensure visibility in publications, events, and digital platforms.
  • Stay informed on corporate giving trends, CSR initiatives, and potential funding opportunities.
  • Research and identify new corporate prospects that align with URM’s mission.
  • Conduct other tasks and projects assigned by the Director of Philanthropy.

  • Required manual dexterity for reaching, lifting objects, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Travel, as required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25lbs.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit corporate, foundation or major gift fundraising, business development, or sales.
  • Demonstrated success in securing corporate sponsorships, cause marketing partnerships, grants, or major gifts.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage corporate leaders, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and identify new revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
