Internal Redeployment Only - Senior International Marketing Officer
Reporting to the Campaigns and Marketing Manager you will play a key strategic role in supporting the University’s international marketing and recruitment aims while overseeing all aspects of the international marketing and communications and mix.
With a strong background in digital marketing and communications, demonstratable creative flair and experience of international marketing, you will play a key senior role within the Campaigns and Marketing Team and work closely with the International Recruitment Team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing international marketing strategies to support the University’s international student recruitment goals.
This post is full-time and fixed term until 11th September 2026.
Salary: £41,064 - £46,049 per annum (Grade 6)

Job Description
- Work with the Campaigns and Marketing Manager and International Office to produce, manage and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to support the University’s international student recruitment aims. Provide professional advice and guidance on international marketing to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the production of effective marketing materials to support international student recruitment across a mix of digital and print channels. This includes prospectuses, exhibition materials (physical & digital), social media, PPC advertising and other materials as required. Create project plans and coordinate activities with the International Marketing Officer and wider team as needed to ensure successful delivery of materials.
- Lead on management and operational delivery of the university’s peer-to-peer engagement platform work – currently The Ambassador Platform – to ensure the platform effectively supports recruitment and conversion work
- Work and build strong working relationships with the enquiry and CRM teams to oversee all aspects of communications to international enquirers, applicants and offer holders. Develop and deliver comprehensive communication plans for these segments and produce engaging content as required.
- Provide strategic and operational marketing support to the English Language Programmes Team and International Study Centre ensuring the suite of programmes offered by each team are promoted and supported effectively.
- Work with the Digital Communications Team to ensure the University website effectively caters to a prospective international student audience. Provide recommendations and ideas for continual development in this area in line with customer requirements.
- Assist the Campaigns and Marketing Manager in managing and reporting on the international marketing budget.
- Work with the Development and Alumni Relations Team to establish key relationships within our Alumni community which can help support student recruitment.
- Support the team with attendance at recruitment events digitally and on campus as well as physical school visits/exhibitions within the UK.
- Line manage the International Marketing Officer and guide other employees across the University in International Marketing activities as required.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to aid the department such as supporting the Team’s Student Ambassador Scheme and managing casual staff and overseeing their work as required.

Qualifications and Education
- Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership/experience
- Substantial experience of working within international marketing and communication field particularly within a digital capacity
- Able to demonstrate professional knowledge within marketing, and give advice and guidance to internal and external customers
- Proven experience of writing copy and producing marketing materials across a range of platforms and channels, both hard copy and digital
- Proven experience in developing new processes and procedures
- Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
- Evidence of ability to explore customers’ needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered
- Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identify and propose both practical and innovative solutions
- Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of key advances within international marketing and communications
- Evidence of ability to undertake and deliver specific projects and supervise short term project teams
- Demonstratable appreciation of, and sensitivity to, different cultures
