BRADFORD COMPANY is looking for a bright, innovative, and highly motivated Controls Engineer, for a manufacturing and machine build environment. Bradford is a manufacturer of industrial packaging products and material handling systems. We provide expertise and high quality solutions to some of the largest companies in the world.
Essential duties and responsibilities will include:
- Design, build, implement and repair controls systems for many types of automated assembly and converting equipment.
- Candidates must be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the Company and have organizational project management skills.
Other requirements include:
- Experience with PLC programming, Circuit design, Operator Interface, Electrical troubleshooting, knowledge of panel build, AC/DC motors and controls, motion controls (servo) and analog/digital interfacing) is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with robotic programming as well as closed loop PC control is strongly desired.
- Strong problem solving ability and mechanical aptitude to support the machine controls development.
- Proficient with Allen Bradley based controls systems and motion control
- Basic computer knowledge (Allen Bradley Programming software, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Desire to work in a fun, fast-paced, dynamic, interactive, collaborative, creative and innovative environment
- Some light travel may be required.
Supervisory & Leadership Duties:
Responsibilities include supervising, coaching and developing a team of engineers and technicians; assigning tasks, setting priorities, and overseeing workload distribution for project completion; appraising performance, providing feedback and identifying training opportunities. Supervisor will foster a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement as well as act as a liaison between engineering, operations and management to communicate progress and resolve issues.
Qualifications/Education:
- Degree in Engineering or related technical field from four-year college or university is preferred, 10 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
