About the Role:
The Racquet Shops Attendant plays a vital role in enhancing the experience of guests and members by providing exceptional service in the rental, sales, and maintenance of racquet sports equipment. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the racquet shop located within the Athletics, Golf, Summerhouse, and Squash Building facilities. The attendant ensures that all equipment is properly maintained, organized, and available to meet the needs of players of all skill levels. By offering expert advice and assistance, the attendant helps customers select the appropriate racquets and accessories, contributing to their overall satisfaction and enjoyment. Additionally, the role supports the smooth functioning of the facility by coordinating inventory, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of racquet sports such as tennis, squash, or badminton.
- Experience in customer service or retail environments.
- Ability to perform light equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a sports or recreation facility.
- Familiarity with racquet stringing and equipment tuning.
- Certification in racquet stringing or sports equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with racquet rentals, sales, and equipment inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain and repair racquets and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety for users.
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash or electronic payments.
- Collaborate with facility staff to coordinate equipment availability for lessons, tournaments, and special events.
- Ensure the racquet shop area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on racquet selection, stringing options, and accessories based on customer needs.
