Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager Job Details:
Snell & Wilmer is seeking a Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager to join our national Attorney Talent Team. Currently, we expect this position to be based in Phoenix, Arizona.
We seek candidates who are creative and positive professionals, whose sound judgment allows them to exercise a great deal of discretion, and whose strong interpersonal skills guide their interactions with colleagues and candidates. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in the legal profession, whether as a practicing attorney or in a professional role supporting law students or attorneys. At least 5 years of lateral recruiting experience is required.
The position will focus on lateral attorney recruiting and strategic outreach initiatives, including:
- Partnering with practice leaders and serving as the lead internal recruiter on lateral attorney searches assigned to you;
- Connecting with various demographics inside and outside the firm to yield great lateral candidates throughout the United States – including job postings, partnering with the Marketing team on the online promotion of opportunities, direct candidate outreach, and building relationships with outside search firms;
- Contacting potential recruits to share opportunities and discuss the advantages of joining Snell & Wilmer; and
- Helping to build our alumni network to provide ongoing career development support and foster recruitment leads.
In addition to the outreach and interpersonal connection required for the role, it requires a good degree of administrative work, including:
- Maintaining accurate records on LawCruit and our internal lateral recruiting dashboard (Partners and Counsel);
- Scheduling interviews, sending interview calendar invitations, and coordinating Zoom or physical meeting locations;
- Compiling and distributing interview evaluation feedback;
- Tracking candidate statuses and providing proactive status updates to key individuals;
- Creating and maintaining candidate maps for a variety of searches; and
- Partnering with the Attorney Development and Human Resources teams on the successful onboarding and integration of lateral attorneys.
